Objective To understand the periodontal health status of patients with liver cirrhosis, so as to put forward prevention suggestions and treatment measures for the periodontal disease of patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods Oral health and periodontal health examinations were performed among 300 patients with liver cirrhosis, who were admitted to the Department of Stomatology, the Fifth Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital from July 2016 to December 2018, and the results were analyzed. Results Among 300 patients, the detection rate of gingival bleeding was 74.67%, and that of dental calculus was 90.67%. Logistic regression analysis found that the risk difference of periodontitis between men and women was statistically significant(P<0.05), and the risk of periodontitis was higher in men than that in women. Cirrhosis patients aged 45-59 had an increased risk of periodontitis compared to cirrhosis patients aged 35-44(OR=2.263, 95%CI: 1.268~4.038, P=0.006). Conclusions The patients with liver cirrhosis have poor periodontal health and weak awareness of oral health care. So active preventive and therapeutic measures should be taken. |
