Objective To analyze the clinical features and epidemiological characteristics of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) admitted to the Fourth People’s Hospital of Nanning, and provide reference for the prevention and control of COVID-19 outbreak. Methods Fifty-seven COVID-19 patients treated in the isolation ward of the Fourth People’s Hospital of Nanning from January 22 to February 17, 2020 were selected as the research subjects, and their clinical data were collected to analyze the general conditions, epidemiology and clinical symptoms, laboratory examination findings and CT imaging characteristics. According to the clinical classification method of Guidelines on the Novel Coronavirus-Infected Pneumonia Diagnosis and Treatment (Trial Fifth Edition), the clinical features of mild/common patients and severe/critically severe patients were compared and analyzed. Results Among the 57 confirmed COVID-19 cases, there were 28 (49%) males and 29 (51%) females, with an average age of 45 years, and 36 cases (63.16%) had contacted with Wuhan peoples. Thirty-seven (64.91%) patients from 10 families were clustered infections. Clinical symptoms were mainly fever (52.63%), cough (42.10%), sore throat (22.81%), and fatigue (19.30%), 7 case were asymptomatic. There were 50 mild/common cases (87.72%) and 7 severe/critically severe cases (12.28%). Seventeen cases (29.82%) underlying diseases, 1 case was infected with influenza B virus, and 1 case was complicated with pulmonary mycoplasma infection. Seventeen cases were positive for fecal nucleic acid test, and the negative nucleic acid test of throat swabs was earlier than that of fecal nucleic acid. Thirteen cases (32.50%) were still positive for fecal nucleic acid test even after being negative for nucleic acid test of throat swabs. The CT manifestations of typical cases were multiple patchy ground glass opacity, mainly distributed in the peripheral subpleural area. The lesions were prevalent in the lower lung, and severe patients showed diffuse lesions. The onset time of the lesions may be inconsistent and the primary lesions prevailed. Conclusions COVID-19 patients in Nanning are mainly imported cases and mild/common cases, with a possible transmission route of excrement. The clinical characteristics are similar to viral pneumonia, and high-resolution CT is helpful for diagnose. |
