All the time, hepatitis E caused by HEV has been considered as an acute and self-limiting disease, which does not require specific antiviral therapy. As the study of HEV pathogenicity progresses, HEV infection has been found to cause acute liver failure and severe hepatitis, as well as induce chronic hepatitis in immunodeficient patients. In such cases, timely and effective anti-HEV therapy is required. This review summarizes the research advance on the therapeutic regimen and therapeutic effect of antiviral therapy for HEV infection, as well as new drugs against HEV, thus providing reference for clinically effective treatment of hepatitis E. |
